Too stressing to keep that game up.

Now ...about the pattern... I swear! I didn't want to do that again...but there it was. I think it has to do with my love of things ethnic plus my love of the all-american cowboy or working guy or cornfed country boy. It's all mixed in there. Plus a very neurotic hurt I received back in the day when a racist white lady -- wife of a minister-- said she didn't like seeing her race muddied with dark people. So I figure it's best to play it safe by not muddying her race.
-CCarole McDonnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15443401088634718848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12177793.post-6107273721151566682008-02-18T10:02:00.000-05:002008-02-18T10:02:00.000-05:00A dark gal. I always liked my skin color, but I saw plenty of Hispanic girls growing up who bleached hair and skin and wanted to be white, to the point of super-neurosis. That's why for ages, I never wanted to blow-dry my hair straight. I went the other way (not wanting to give up my curly, ethnic hair). But, now, at 48, I said, screw it. I want to have sleek hair and have been blowing it straight. I think we can overcorrect. :)

Of course, I ain't going blonde or bleaching. :D

I have my share of neuroses, not to mention depressiveness, and that tends to show in what I write. And the sense of being a misfit is recurring...

We write what we are...

MirMirtikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04668769199544406582noreply@blogger.com
