I'm still kinda reeling and gaining back my emotional and physical health.

Your novel about Lot's wife sounds good. One idea about Lot's wife is that the phrase "to be turned into a pillar of salt" is much our "to be petrified." Which means, to be turned into stone. Of course people don't literally turn to stone when they are afraid. But the KJV translators were literal. Much of the Eastern tradition has it that Lot's wife simply became terrified and died of a heart attack. I think I'll post an old Bible study I did on Lot's wife here...so you can get an idea of what I'm saying. -CaroleCarole McDonnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15443401088634718848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12177793.post-32977004172010460002007-02-19T19:53:00.000-05:002007-02-19T19:53:00.000-05:00Carole-- I read with great interest your article a...Carole--

I read with great interest your article about mistranslations in the Bible.

I am currently writing a novel about Lot's Wife(titled, incidentally, "Lot's Wife"). I believe that I read a passage somewhere long ago that the word "pillar" was mistranslated from the word "vanished". Unfortunately, I am at a loss as to how to verify this information. Indeed, I am not certain if this did not come to me in a dream.

I would very much enjoy discussing this with you if you have the time.

I also have a blog: spockjones.blogspot.com. It is purely for fun and therapy--a Star Trek fan fiction playground. It cured my writer's block after the sudden, traumatic death of my beloved mother in 2005.

This may sound very strange, but Star Trek was a way for me to reconnect with my spiritual self. As Einstein said: "My sense of God is my sense of wonder at the universe."

Alas, we make our own to God, yes?

I hope to hear from you.girl6https://www.blogger.com/profile/03281929585006049455noreply@blogger.com
