I think a lot of folks have these issues. That's why i try to have a transparent blog...where christians know a christian is being honest and black folks know a black woman is being honest. I'm so glad you guys understand this. It's healing just to be brave enough at 49 to talk about all this.

I think I have to channel it into good areas...not into bitterness. Trusting God to not let me have a wounded spirit. He is our restorer.

-CCarole McDonnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15443401088634718848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12177793.post-24762248218591755362009-02-02T14:06:00.000-05:002009-02-02T14:06:00.000-05:00Hi Carole:Well, this reminds me of Freedom Writers...Hi Carole:

Well, this reminds me of Freedom Writers, a movie about young teens in an inner city school raised around violence, and their teacher encourages them to keep a diary of everything in their life everyday.

Anyway, the teacher (Hilary Swank), seems to be softspoken when it comes to the youth's needs. I noticed that when the older woman would yell and talk down to her, Swank couldn't say anything. She would hold her lips together. Oh, she'd say some things, but I was sitting there like: "Oh my! Say something to that wench!"

But then I noticed that her silence would be like a silent killer. She killed the naysayers with silence. They looked so silly when she made tenure after being a teacher for only two years and was well respected by all the kids at school.

I suppose what I am saying is, I am just like you. I am so quiet sometimes it puts an ache in my chest and I wonder why I am sick most of the times now. I have headaches from holding things in. Silence isn't good all the time, we should always "speak from the heart". Other times times, silence should suffice if what the person is talking about is stupid.

God Bless you:)
-EricaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12177793.post-80651784451984644732009-02-02T12:35:00.000-05:002009-02-02T12:35:00.000-05:00I don't know you but it sounds like you aren't tal...I don't know you but it sounds like you aren't talking to a lot of people. Are you the type of person that let's others take advantage of you hoping that eventually someone will do you right? You seem like a nice person and I'll be praying for you. (you know what that means right? When I see your blog...I'll think...oh pooh! I haven't prayed for that girl "so Lord....can you bless her." That's my broke down prayer...but I'll be praying :) for you nonetheless.Lorriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12594005184182858373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12177793.post-19182152871064445822009-02-02T01:42:00.000-05:002009-02-02T01:42:00.000-05:00Hello! :)Hello! :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12177793.post-5329408785137415942009-02-01T20:35:00.000-05:002009-02-01T20:35:00.000-05:00Oh my Carole, it saddens me when read some of what...Oh my Carole, it saddens me when read some of what you say. You're such a sweet, talented, giving person but yet it seems you carry many heavy burdens. Some eating away at your soul, some at your heart, some at your mind, and it seems all of them are sapping away your health.

These demons from your past need to be released. How about writing a book about a woman who struggled through her life, who is tormented and hurting- but have her find ways of resolving all the ills and turning into a happy healthy wonderful person.

I'm so sorry that racism had it's part in your struggles and the history of it still eats away. Is it still an issue?Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17866730185060307014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12177793.post-57127919831429707882009-02-01T16:47:00.000-05:002009-02-01T16:47:00.000-05:00Thanks, Jessica. So thankful that we have a God who is big enough to sort through them and help us know how to handle them. Hope that this all gets resolved soon. Keep on writing! God bless you!J. M.
